Certainly one of the hardiest of the Caryota, this fishtail palm from China has a relatively small crown of doubly-pinnate leaves with fish-tail shaped leaflets and a fairly slim trunk. In common with others in the genus, it requires plenty of water and a rich soil. Given these it is very fast growing. A moderately-sized species suitable for all but the coldest climates. (RPS.com)
